I chose this project because I wanted to capture the moment we we’re in as a result of COVID-19. COVID-19 has caused a lot of changes and adjustments for everyone, especially the addition of masks in our day to day lives. I chose this project because I was interested in capturing the different masks that people wear and how they would choose to individualize themselves.

I took my pictures at random with whomever I encountered. Some challenges I faced was finding a varied amount of masks and deciding on a background. Since I wanted the photos to be random, it meant the backgrounds would be different which was a challenge at first, but eventually it worked out. Through my project I made the discovery that not only have people adapted to this new way of life, but most people have embraced the masks and even integrate them with their outfits. I found that the masks give people another way they can express themselves, either through the color or style.
